Stenciling rocks. Especially after eating some delicious Pho for lunch. It's amazing how detailed you can be with just an xacto knife some freezer paper, ink and your trusty iron.

Rainy Day Reflections
It's pouring today, which is perfect for some book reading, and so I took the time to finish up this one: The Omnivore's Dilemma by: Michael Pollan. It's by far one of the best non fiction books I have ever had the pleasure of eating, um, reading. And it's left me with some really inspiring ideas for photo projects to come, amongst other things mostly related to the table and my appetite. But let's stick to the photos for now...
A photo project has now been born in my brain, inspired by the divide between what nature has given us to sustain ourselves, and what agricultural & industrial lengths we have gone to thwart her and the balance between us and the earth. I'd like to visit certain places where things have veered terribly off course and also ones where humans are working to regain balance and re-connect us with the cycle of life (and death).
As a visual medium of communication, photography can get people viscerally in touch with the state of our relationship & connection to our environment in a way I believe words sometimes lack. In a basic sense, it's harder to for the eyes to glaze over color, texture & form than black and white words on a page. But for now, on this rainy day, as I am typing black words on a white box right here... I thought I'd leave you with a couple of images that invoke the spirit of The Pastoral from back in the day.
Our strawberry picking road trip was fun & delicious.
